I’m Anthony, and I would be honored to serve as your voice on Joplin city council.

My parents instilled in me a desire to be civic minded. My father served over 20 years in the Army Reserves and my mother volunteered countless hours for political causes. From them, I learned the solemn duties of democracy: it works best when we all take part. I believe it is my responsibility to be involved in my community, volunteering where possible to help us all move forward together.

I'm 31, and aside from some time in Carl Junction, I've lived and worked in Joplin my entire life. I graduated with from PSU with a BA in 2009 and an MA in 2011. Currently, I work for KSN/KODE as a video editor, where I get to help local business owners and organizations tell their stories through broadcast television.

Since 2013, I've been involved in advocacy work through the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Network. The first work-group I served on developed a compromise plan that gave Joplin residents the option to add curbside recycling to their trash service. The current work-group I'm on studies options to increase knowledge and usage of our bike and pedestrian trails.

I strongly believe in servant leadership. My goal if chosen to serve is not to advance any agenda for my own personal profit. I believe we all have a special purpose on this world, and as citizens of Joplin. My hope is to bring a fresh perspective that will help us recognize our purpose, do our best work, and move forward together.
